Some of the projects implemented by HHGSF (Health):

• Operation Protect Your Boarder (OPYB) Project: The project focuses on strengthening demand-generation for immunization and primary healthcare services at the grassroots level through a multi-pronged approach. Key activities include engaging traditional leaders, conducting advocacy and mobilization campaigns, and house-to-house enumeration of children under five and women of childbearing age. It also involves identifying, enrolling, and training CRoWN volunteers to lead community interventions, addressing vaccine hesitancy through counseling and referrals, and ensure accountability and impact, the project emphasizes rigorous reporting and verification mechanisms. Deliverables include detailed documentation of stakeholder engagements, training sessions, advocacy campaigns, and joint health facility meetings. Supervision protocols for volunteers, feedback loops for timely reporting of AFP/VPD cases.

• ACSM CSO-Led Strategy: This project aimed to boost polio immunization and routine vaccination uptake in high-risk communities of Sokoto State. HHGSF leads grassroots engagement through community dialogues, compound meetings, town announcements, and edutainment activities, while leveraging traditional and religious leaders to build trust and address vaccine hesitancy. The initiative also supports house-to-house teams in resolving non-compliance cases and uses targeted communication strategies to promote vaccine acceptance. By combining advocacy, social mobilization, and behavioral change communication, this effort aims to strengthen community confidence, improve access, and accelerate progress toward polio eradication and better health outcomes.

• Global Fund's National TB/HIV Reach Impact Project (N-THRIP): The project is part of the Grant Cycle 7, implemented through NEPWHAN in partnership with Helping Hands & Grassroots Support Foundation (HHGSF) as a Sub-Sub-Recipient in Sokoto State. Its core objective is to strengthen accountability, inclusiveness, and quality in TB/HIV service delivery through Community-Led Monitoring (CLM). HHGSF is leading the data collection on services received by people living with HIV (PLHIV), key populations, and vulnerable groups to identify gaps and improve service delivery. HHGSF is also drive advocacy and issue resolution by working closely with health facilities, government agencies, and community leaders. activities such as community sensitization on Gender-Based Violence, Gender and Human Rights, and other critical issues, while promoting project visibility and stakeholder engagement at state and local levels. Through timely reporting and collaboration with stakeholders, the initiative aims to enhance service quality, empower communities, and ensure effective implementation of TB/HIV interventions in Sokoto State.

• The AMPLI-PPHI project, funded by Jhpiego and implemented by Helping Hands and Grassroots Support Foundation (HHGSF), aims to improve maternal health outcomes by promoting early adoption of life-saving postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) commodities such as Heat-Stable Carbetocin (HSC), Tranexamic Acid (TXA), and calibrated drapes. The initiative addresses barriers to policy adoption, supply chain, and service delivery while creating demand among policymakers, providers, and communities. In Kebbi State, HHGSF will work with health facilities and community structures to strengthen social and behavioral change communication, advocate for respectful maternity care, and ensure availability of essential maternal health commodities. The project also focuses on community-based interventions to increase antenatal care attendance and institutional deliveries. Activities include awareness campaigns, engagement with traditional birth attendants and CHIPS agents, strengthening referral systems, and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks. By fostering collaboration among local stakeholders and using a human-centered design approach, the project seeks to reduce maternal mortality, improve service utilization, and create an enabling environment for sustainable maternal health interventions.
